| • | The Instructor Utilization Handbook (IUH) was designed to provide training for Squad through Platoon size units preparing for Counterinsurgency (COIN) operations using the Deployable Force on Force Instrumented Range System (DFIRST) as a training multiplier. | |||||||||||||||
| • |
This IUH provides training scenarios for a variety
of missions and tasks associated with COIN operations. The training
scenarios contained within use the craw-walk-run approach to training
allowing Soldiers to learn and grow from their successes as well as
mistakes. This training program requires Soldiers to employ a mix of
familiar combat skills to achieve success during often complex and
challenging tasks based on existing doctrine and lessons learned from
recent combat operations.

The objective of this training program is to improve the performance of squad through platoon size units during Counterinsurgency operations. This training program provides scenario based training missions for virtually all military occupational skills (MOS) conducting dismounted and mounted operations including convoy operations, traffic control points and quick reaction force training. |
